Do I need a visa to enter the Maldives as a tourist?

No pre-approval is required. A tourist visa is granted on arrival to most nationalities, provided you meet the basic entry requirements. Note: from 15 April 2025, entry is not granted on Israeli passports.

A passport with Machine Readable Zone (MRZ) and at least 1 month validity; a complete travel itinerary including confirmed return tickets and prepaid accommodation at a registered facility; sufficient funds for your stay; entry requirements for any onward destination; a completed IMUGA Traveller Declaration; and a Yellow Fever vaccination certificate if arriving from an endemic country (children under 1 are exempt).

Is the IMUGA Traveller Declaration mandatory?

Yes. Every traveller must complete and submit the IMUGA Traveller Declaration electronically within 96 hours (4 days) before arrival or departure. Submission on the official portal is free of charge. We can file it for you for a USD 15 service fee per filing.
